Infants (Bethlehem and Jordan)
The children in the infant/toddler room eat and sleep on demand. The teachers will work with parents to coordinate a schedule with home to keep it more consistent for the child. The most important ingredient in infant care is a warm, responsive and dependable adult caregiver. Our staff will spend lots of time holding, cuddling and playing with the infants in our care.
The Infant/Toddler curriculum provides activities that stimulate growth and development that can be incorporated into the routines of the day. The weekly format allows teachers to choose several activities per day per child and personalize the lesson plans for each child, promoting development and making it easy to track implementation of activities. The curriculum includes room enrichments and “Radical Routines” each week to add pizzazz to the classrooms as the teachers meet the needs of the children each day. Activities from the following areas will be offered: language and stories, Bible, social/emotional, gross motor, fine motor, sensory, outdoor, music and art options. Activities will be balanced between active times and quiet times and teacher-directed and child-initiated activities. The toddlers will add learning centers as they become more mobile and daring in their exploration.
